max/msp Jitter question

I just got Jitter and I absolutely love it! It's exactly what I've always wanted for doing live video work.

Just one small problem - I've got the 30-day trial running on my PC laptop. It works great but won't detect my DV camera. I've got the cam plugged into an external firewire card in my laptop's card slot. Other video programs recognize the video feed, but jitter doesn't seem to see it. I'm contemplating installing Jitter on my Mac laptop, where I suspect it will work just fine - but I don't want to be burning two 30-day trials at once. Plus, my PC is faster - dual-core 2 GHZ versus single core 1.3 GHZ.

Has anybody had this problem with Jitter for PC? And is there a solution? Or should I just switch to Mac?

I figured it out - thought I'd post here for future reference.

The trick is, on PC, you need a Quicktime - compatable input device to use jit.qt.grab. If the same thing happens to you, simply substitute jit.dx.grab, which utilizes DirectX instead, and is much more likely to be compatable with devices on PC.
